Thank you again for all that you do in ensuring healthy and happy puppies. We have had the most wonderful experience with our basset Jake. Although nervous about flying a puppy from OK to Maine, we did it and have had no regrets. We particularly appreciate your phone calls and emails the first 8 weeks of Jakes development. It really helped us stay connected from our side of the country to yours. Jake is now 4 months old. He has adjusted well to the winters in Maine. In fact some of his funniest moments have been chasing the kids through their snow beaten tracks. He has been a joy to our family and we would recommend a basset or any puppy from Sooner Kennels.

In October we bought an adorable shih tzu.
When we first saw Duke we fell in love but that love is nothing compared to how much we love him now.
He is the smartest and most loving dog we have ever had. Sometimes we feel that he can understand us when we are talking to him.
I could go on and on about him but to sum him up in one sentence- He is a blessing......
Whenever I need a hug he's always there to give me one. He is so excited to see my husband when he gets home from work,
my husband says that is one of the best things about his day.
Like I said I could go on and on about him. I'm just so happy that Duke is in our lives.
He's not just a dog ,

Dear Jeff,
Thought you might like an up-date on Abby (Charlie &
Josie). She is doing great and growing like a weed,
she is almost 6 months old and weights over 36 pounds,
but she is not fat (we watch real close so she doesn't
over eat).
I think she is the nicest dog we have ever had, and I
know she is the most beautiful (everyone who sees her
says so), and Oh those ears, so long and silky. We
are so pleased with her and thank you for doing such a
good job picking your breeding stock.
We will be having her spayed soon, really hate to, but
don't need the problems of a litter of pups in the
house.
The only problem we are having is one of our own
making---Abby is so SPOILED that I think she owns us.
Have you ever been owned by a baying basset hound?
Not a pretty sight!! I am kidding, we really love her
more than words can express.

Hi Jeff and Stephanie,
I can't believe it's been 4 weeks already since Hunter arrived. He's doing very well and he's keeping me very busy. He and my Black Lab/Newfie mix have become great friends and pretty much wrestle all day long.
He's growing by leaps and bounds. We go for our next round of shots on 9/5, so I'm interested to see how much he weighs. He's at least two or three times taller than he was 4 weeks ago. The vet says he's healthy and beautiful.
He's a smart guy, too. He's pretty much housebroken - no accidents in the house for a few days now and he's never had an accident in his crate. He can also sit and give his paw - not bad for 12 weeks.
Hi Jeff, just wanted to give you an update on Daisy Belle (parents were
Boomer & Dixie Chic). We noticed they had another batch of beautiful
puppies & wanted to share/brag on ours. 2 years ago we bought Buddy Blue
(parents were Buddy Bear & Cream Delite) & were so happy with him we just
had to get another! Buddy is Good Citizen certified & becoming a therapy
dog, he is so smart, so loyal, so happy & an all around wonderful addition to
our family. And Daisy - where do I begin...people actually stop us on the
street & tell us how beautiful she is! She is playful & loves to snuggle at
the same time. It was almost embarrassing at her graduation from obedience
training - she won so many awards & passed the course above & beyond the
other puppies! Both dogs are mellow in the house, but take them to the park
or lake & look out...they love to fetch & swim, come when called, love other
dogs & love kids. We couldn't be happier with our Goldens & highly
recommend Sooner Kennels to anyone looking for that all around great dog!

I have been so remiss in sending you an update on Ruby. She is now 11 months old and is such a wonder puppy. We started leaving her alone in the house uncrated about 6 weeks ago and she has been the best. She plays with her toys and just occasionally gets into the mulch in the potted plants - no big deal! The only problem we have with her is that she is just too bright. I give her drinks in the bathroom by turning the tub on. She has learned to do this on her own and loves it! We came home one evening and had forgotten to shut the bathroom door. The tub was filled to one inch of the top (thank goodness for the overflow), she had her toys in the tub and she was completely wet!! She had her own little play pool while we were out. No harm was done, but we double check the bathroom door now.
She definitely has a charmed life in our swimming pool since she has to have her own float to get onto and lounge around. After climbing up on ours, we decided she should have her own. It's difficult for a human and a 70 lb. dog to share a float.
Anyway, thought you might get a kick out of one of Boomer and Snowflake's babies!!

My boyfriend, Scott, and I picked up a basset (Hugo) in May. I wanted to
tell you that we LOVE Hugo!!! He keeps us entertained and loved. The
little guy is quit the celebrity around our neighborhood. On our
morning/evening walks people always stop us to rub his belly and if they see
us without him they ask how he is doing. Hugo was incredibly easy to train
and does great when we travel. He likes the back seat so can stretch out or
check out what's behind us. My Grandma asked me to bring him to her place in
Hot Springs since he was such a wonderful puppy. We went to visit and
everywhere we stopped people would comment on what a beautiful hound he was.
We are glad Hugo came from your kennel. He is 100% healthy and happy.
Scott and I always refer people to your kennel for any of the breeds you
offer.

I just wanted you to know how happy with are with our new puppy, Loki! I can believe it has already been 3 weeks since we picked him up. Time flies when you are training and spoiling a sweet puppy like him. We were so pleased with every part of our experience in obtaining Loki. You made the process a breeze. Thank you for being so accommodating with our pick up date.
Your kennels are immaculate and you dogs are very gentle and friendly! We really enjoyed our visit, and our chance to see Loki’s parents, Buddy and Snowflake. AND, Loki was the cleanest puppy I have ever seen! He was a gem on our long ride home. Loki went to the vet very soon after our arrival home. The vet was very pleased in his healthy condition. He is growing and thriving. I have attached pictures so that you can see his progress. Please use me for a reference any time. Robert and I couldn’t be happier parents!

We purchased a Golden Retriever (Cody) in February
2005. He was from Buddy & Maggie Mae. He just turned 1
year old and he is just an outstanding addition to our
family. We have two young boys and while Cody is a big
dog, he is so gentle and patient with them. He is
smart, beautiful and has adjusted wonderfully to our
other two dogs, a sheltie and a terrier mix and our
cat. He has grown up beautifully and continues to
amaze us. Thank you for such a wonderful well-bred

Just wanted you to know I love the dog. You were right he is elegant and loyal. My fence is not up yet so I bought a 10' kennel to put on my back porch until the fence is finished. He loves the company of the Golden Retriever, they get along great. I have finally picked names for both of them. The Golden is "Happy Go Lucky" (Lucky for short).
"Little Red" is now "Prince Charming" we call him Prince. I had never considered showing a dog before but since you asked me the question, I was curios about what it takes to do that. I am enrolling him in Dog school and we begin this Saturday. He hates a leash but will currently stay close to me. He will learn I am sure. He is very smart. I love his personality.
Did you know he loves to chew paper? He also likes to "steal" my magazines off of the coffee table. So far I have only lost one phone book while I was not looking! It was open to the Vet page - He chewed the entire page out of the book! Good thing I already had a vet appointment and new the number. LOL
I wanted to say thank you for the wonderful dog, he will be loved and pampered and taught the correct way to behave. I will keep in touch and we will come to visit after we have had some obedience training.

Hey Jeff - Hope you're having a good "end of summer" and things are going well.
We just wanted to give you an update about Truman. He is wonderful. Yes, he's a puppy and we all know what that means, however, he is the BEST puppy I have ever been around. He's smart, responsive, has completed his first puppy school, goes to work with me, is well-socialized, totally crate trained when we can't supervise him, he has slept all night (from about 9:00 p.m. until we wake up) since the beginning of our time together. Everyone who meets him loves him. His disposition is so sweet and he absolutely loves kids. He is really bonded to us. He has been camping, to of his grandparent's houses, in fact he can go anywhere a dog is allowed. So, without going on and on and on let's just say we love him and thank you so much for breeding such a wonderful pet.
You may be hearing from a lady on my Board of Directors named Kim . She is wanting a dog like Truman for her family. I don't know if it matters to her whether it's a male or female. Anyway, she is going to look on your website and may be contacting you. You may use us for a reference at any time.

I had spent a year raising a Golden Retriever puppy for the Guide Dog Foundation. When I had to return him to them this past September it was devastating for me and I couldn’t get over not having him around. I searched the web day after day looking for a Golden Retriever breeder that maybe would have a dog that reminded me of my Greco.
When I came across Sooner Kennels I knew there was no turning back. I filled out the
Information request and Jeff contacted me immediately.
We picked up Nicky at the airport on November 18, 2005. I was really nervous about getting a puppy from a breeder all the way in Oklahoma that I never met! I live in Brooklyn and it’s a long way for a little guy like him to travel but he was in great condition and very well adjusted. It was obvious to me that he came from a wonderful environment with lots of love and care.
Jeff is a very knowledgeable breeder and made me feel confident about his dogs and I can’t begin to explain how wonderful little Nicky is as a result of this.
He is only eight weeks old but incredibly intelligent. He is almost completely housebroken and I have only had him for four days! He loves his new backyard here in the big city and I can’t thank Jeff enough for raising such a loving, healthy, adorable pup.

We are very happy with our golden. His name is Bono. He is well mannered and easy to train. He's such a loveable creature, loves to be held, loves new people, even licked the vet after a shot. He's a wonderful addition to our family. (I think the cat secretly likes him as well.) We took him to the vet and were told that he is a beautiful puppy and that he was in perfect health and from good breeding. His temperament is wonderful, easy going and when he gets scolded he feels bad and will go lay down, breaks your heart. He's pretty much potty trained and we've had him for 4 weeks. He just finally realized that going to the door lets us know he needs to go outside. Bono is just a joy, we love him and look forward to our time together. First off, Jeff is a really nice guy and is easy to communicate with. His kindness is also shown through the care of his dogs. Not only was his kennel incredibly clean, but so were his dogs. When we first pulled up, all of his adult dogs were scrambling to lick us through the fence and were so sweet despite our being strangers. This told me a lot of the good temperament of these dogs, and was really glad to see this since I was getting a puppy for my autistic son as a companion dog. Then we went inside where the dogs can get away from the elements, and it was very clean. I have never seen a kennel kept this well. Then I got my sweet little man and he was so well taken care of, just as fat as a little pup should be. I checked him, once in the car, for fleas and checked his ears. NOT ONE flea was on this dog, and I looked hard! And his ears were perfectly clean and mite free despite being with all his brothers and sisters, so you KNOW he is taking great care of these do!
Hi Jeff & Family! Just wanted to give you all a quick update on Buddy Blue, a truly great dog as far as our neighbors, friends, family & especially us think! He's 7 months old today, 60 pounds & just as healthy as can be! He is a recent "puppy school" graduate, he gets to skip beginner obedience & starts advanced classes soon. What proud parents are we? He has brought so much happiness & shear fun into our lives. He's always up for a long hike, a day of swimming & fishing & loves to snuggle! His "puppy school" instructor recommends that he become a therapy dog. He makes us laugh & smile all day & hopefully will do the same for others soon. I was referred to Sooner Kennels by another pride owner who did much research and learned that national Golden Retriever organizations regard Sooner Kennels as the top breeder in Oklahoma. My experience with Sooner Kennels was far beyond expectations. Every dog is brought up in an extremely good environment and taken care of on an individual basis. Unlike other kennels, these dogs are not brought up like cattle and therefore each has their own unique personalities. Much care and dedication goes into these puppies during the 7 week period they spend with Jeff and the puppy's mother. Dear Jeff and Sherry, As we sit here watching our precious 11 week old puppy play nearby, we have so many wonderful things to say about your kennel and the puppy you have given us, that it might be hard to keep it short! We appreciate so many aspects of your business, from your professionalism, to your facilities, to the love you have for your dogs. At every step of the way, you have been extremely accessible and up front, careful to answer all of our questions, which is refreshing as we unfortunately find it is rare to find such consistent good business practice. We were extremely impressed with your facilities; these dogs truly have a wonderful life with you! With ample play space and room to run both indoors and outdoors and a pleasantly heated/cooled indoor area, it was no surprise to meet a group of such well-kept, happy dogs. We had heard horror stories about people having to bathe their puppies a dozen times to get the “kennel” smell out of their coats, but we knew we wouldn’t be having that problem with Duke as we knew he had been kept in a warm, clean kennel since the day he was born. It is very clear to us how much you care for your dogs from the time and energy you put into keeping them safe, happy, and healthy, and how important it is to you that they go to good homes. As you know I recently lost both my 15 year old Goldens; Barnum and Bailey, within months of each other. We had been together a long time and I loved them dearly. I have had Goldens all my life and was afraid of two things after my "puppies" died. I feared being that attached and hence heartbroken and that no dog, not even a Golden puppy would ever meet my expectations because Barnum and Bailey were so special.
When my Barnum died of cancer, I contacted my breeder, just to check if he might have a litter. He had retired. I then went to the internet since I am now living in the Caribbean. I found your website and your "Puppy" tab won my heart.
I must be honest, I had some concerns buying a puppy without personally picking him out in person. And since I was so far away wondered if all would go OK. So I described exactly what I was looking for and you sure did deliver!!!
Please allow me to, again, tell you how precious and lovable my puppy Shadow is. You have done a fine job raising him for his first 8 weeks. His markings are perfect. He is smart and has a great sense of humor. I love him so much. If you recall, I called you the day after he arrived, asking you to fax me some business cards because everywhere my Shadow and I went, people asked if there were any left in his litter. Even as I write this, my sister is making arrangements to get Shadow's brother, Norton, as her new Golden. This is in addition, to friends, who saw Shadow and immediately contacted you and bought a puppy. That says everything about the quality of the puppies you raise/sell.
So enough of the emotional aspect of my purchase of my beautiful Shadow. I now would like to commend you on the business aspect of our transaction. Your standards are impeccable. You kept me informed every step of the way. You frequently sent me photos of my puppy as he spent those weeks with his Mom and siblings. When I flew back to the states and met the coldest winter on record, which caused problems for Shadow's air travel, you were so accommodating in ensuring Shadow got to me safely and within my short turn around time frame. I thank you so much for all you have done. I know you love your puppies and their parents. It is intuitively obvious in the disposition of Shadow. He knew he was loved from his first breath.
What I can promise you, in return for bringing Shadow in to my life, is that I will make you proud. I will care and love our Shadow. He, without question, has a loving and appreciative home. I thank you again for enhancing my life with the Golden moments of Shadow.

We bought our puppy for our son in Jan.2004. We were so very impressed with the kennels and how well kept and clean they all were. The dogs are very well taken care of and very well treated. They have access to inside as well as outside, whichever they want through the pet doors. They are all very clean and well kept. We are very happy with our puppy. She is healthy and so pretty. Jeff the pup we picked up Jan 15, 2004. We have had her and she is growing like a weed and adapted to us real well. We got her 4th shot on Jan 27th and the vet said she was in good shape and a very well bred dog. He estimated her final weight at approx 70-75 lbs. She is doing fine and we look forward to a long relationship with her. Good Work.
